2008 History Camps
The camp fee is $60 for non-members and $50 for members of the Allegany
County Historical Society. Registration must be made in advance and the
camp fee is due at registration. Camps are limited. Deadlines for
registration are: June 8th for June camps and June 30th for July camps.

Pioneer Life
Campers will learn about the westward movement and life on the
frontier. Aspects of 19th century life, including western travel, how
people dressed and one-room schoolhouses will be explored. One day of camp
will be held at the Queen City Transportation Museum. Crafts, snacks and
activities will focus on all aspects of pioneer life.
Offered: June 23-27 from 9 am - 11:45 am.
Ages: Finished second and third grade |
French
& Indian War
Campers will learn about this time period and Allegany County's
connection to the period. Explore the time period with crafts, foods,
re-enactors and activities.
Offered: July 7-11 from 9 am - 11:45 am
Ages: Finished fourth and fifth grade |
Early Transportation
Participants will explore a different type of early transportation
each day. Campers will make a different form of early transportation each
day. Camp includes several field trips.
Offered: July 21-25 from 9 am - 11:45 am
Ages: Finished fourth and fifth grade

Upstairs-Downstairs
Discover how a family and their servants of the late 1800s lived,
worked, and played. Camp includes the social customs and traditions of the
period. One day is devoted to sewing (boys work with leather), one day is
devoted to cooking, and one day is spent as students in a one-room school.
